Step One - Making Contact
Email us your details and we will forward a volunteer pack specific to the project that you want to work on. This includes pretty much everything you will need to know about being a volunteer. We will of course try to answer any more specific questions you might have about volunteering.
We will also send you a questionnaire and invite you to provide us with the following:
- A completed Application Form (click to download)
- Copy of your CV
- A scanned copy of your passport
- Preferred start date and intended duration of stay
- Criminal Records Bureau check
Step Two - Fundraising
For your peace of mind - we would like to make it clear that Karma Project's is a non-profit based organisation. However, each volunteer is expected to fund raise or self-fund a sum of 300GBP, payable directly to the organisation. This amount covers you for bed and breakfast for one month. The rest is spent directly on meeting the basic needs of the children. Please take the equivalent amount in Thai Baht with you to Childlife as their paypal account is not working!
If you intend to stay longer then you will only be required to pay your living costs, which in Mae Sai compares very favourably to back home e.g. the eat-all-you-can buffet at Childlife's Restaurant is less than 50p!
Once we confirm payment, you can proceed to Stage Three!
Step Three - Getting There
Now you're all signed up we will send you the Volunteer Pack - everything you will ever need to know about living in Mae Sai, Thailand - and working for Childlife!
Booking flights is ultimately your responsibility but we have first-hand experience and knowledge of getting to and from Thailand and then on to Mae Sai, so we can help you find bargain flights and explain how to move on to Mae Sai.
